Easy Peasy Matcha

Sipping matcha is a morning ritual I've recently come to love. I'm not sure if it's the meditative state I slip into for those few minutes or the soothing feeling of a warm, sweet drink in the morning, but I'm obsessed.

 

I've tried making matcha a few different ways but none have tasted as good as this. I didn't want to buy a chasen (matcha whisk) or a handheld milk frother so ended up improvising with a milk frother that was lying around in my kitchen. This method obviously isn't traditional but it's quick and tastes amazing, which is exactly what I want.

 

Ingredients:
Serves 1

1 cup milk or non-dairy alternative (I alternate between oat, hemp and almond milk)
1/2 tsp matcha powder (I'm currently using Zenchai's Premium Ceremonial Grade matcha)
 

Directions:

1. In a milk frother, combine 1/2 tsp matcha powder and hot water. Blend to combine.

2. Heat 1 cup of milk in the microwave for a minute. 

3. Pour the milk into the frother. Blend.

4. Voila!
